Root Chakra

Scents to assist with the root chakra include: Patchouli, Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Benzoin and Vetiver.

Connection to: Birthplace, culture, foundations
Influenced: Blood, spine, nervous system, bladder, male reproductive organs, vagina, testes

This chakra affects the sense of smell. The body parts associated with the particular chakra include: the bones, teeth, nails, legs, arms, intestines, anus, prostate, blood and cell structure. If this chakra IS in harmony, one will feel a profound connection to nature and Trust in nature's laws, a deep understanding of its even ebb and flow. If this chakra is NOT in balance, you will find an inability to trust nature and tend to focus on material possessions. There will be a need to satisfy your own desires and wishes. Some stones that are helpful in this area would be: Bloodstone, Obsidian, Carnelian, Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz and Black Tourmaline.

Lower Abdomen Chakra or Sacral
Effects: Stimulates desire, rejuvenates
Scents to assist with the Sacral Chakra include: Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Neroli, Sandalwood, Orange, Geranium and Rose.

This chakra affects the sense of Taste. It is associated with the Reproductive organs, kidneys, bladder, pelvic area, sperm and all liquids and fluids of the body. If this chakra IS in balance and harmony you will feel considerate, open, friendly. A kind person who has no trouble sharing emotions or feelings with others. Happily connected to life. If this chakra is NOT in balance one will feel unsure and unstable in sexual and emotional matters. Will not/cannot express feelings and suppresses natural needs. Sacral chakra stones that can assist are: Red Jasper, Orange Carnelian, Topaz, Orange Calcite and Citrine.

Solar Plexus
Effects: Eases aggression, pacifier
Scents to assist with the solar plexus include: Lemon, Juniper, Vertivert, Rosemary, Yarrow and Marjoram.

Connection to: Center of personal power, natural gifts, positive self ego
Influenced: Diaphragm (and the breath), adrenals, skin, digestive organs (stomach, duodenum, pancreas, gall bladder and liver)

This chakra affects the sight. It is associated with the abdomen, lower back, stomach, spleen, liver, gall bladder and the autonomic nervous system. If this chakra IS in balance, one will exude a feeling of wholeness, tolerance and acceptance of life and relationships. There is a natural balance of material and spiritual. If there is NO harmony there will be no trust in the natural flow and a need to dominate. There will also be an emphasis on the material and a great need for material security. Stones to assist in the Solar Plexus region include: Tigers Eye, Citrine, Yellow Fluorite, Golden Beryl, Malachite and assorted Jaspers.

Heart Chakra
Effects: Brings peace and understanding
The scents related to the Heart Chakra include: Rose, Rosewood, Bergamot and Jasmine.

Connection: Center of compassion, healing, nurturing
Influenced: Heart, lungs, immune system (thymus and lymph glands)

This chakra affects the touch and is associated with the Heart, upper back, rib cage, chest, skin, circulatory system, lower lungs and abdominal cavity.  If this chakra IS in harmony one will freely give of self. In combination with other chakras, leads the way to understanding "Divine Love." One is aware of the unity of all life. If NOT in harmony, one will not give love with sincerity. Looks for rewards and cannot accept love given by others. Green Quartz, Aventurine, Dioptase, Green Tourmaline, Chrysocolla, Peridot, Variscite, Watermelon Tourmaline and Green Millennium Stone are just a few that can assist in the heart chakra area. Pink stones such as Rose Quartz, Kunzite, Morganite and Danburite can be used here as well.

Thymus Chakra (2nd Heart Chakra)
Effect: Connects us to our expression, confidence, orator
Element - Water
Connection: governs compassion and inner peace and the connection to world soul

This chakra helps us to strengthen our concentration and control over speech, allowing freedom of expression. This is also the chakra that assists in building the immune system. If the Thymus Chakra IS in Balance, You are open to higher spiritual levels; and you have both love and aspiration for the Divine, and also selfless love for those around you. Ability to connect your dreams with waking reality. If the chakra is NOT in balance, You may indulge in spiritual "talk" but avoid the "walk" i.e. ignore the needs of others. Some crystals to use for the Second Heart/Thymus would be Turquoise, Teal Apatite, Aquamarine and Chrysocolla

Throat Chakra
Effects: Brings harmony to speech and voice
Scents which are related to the throat chakra would include: Hyssop, Chamomile, Lemongrass and Sage.

This chakra affects sound and is associated with the lungs, vocal cords, bronchioles, throat, neck, jaw, thyroid, voice and nape of neck. If this chakra is NOT in harmony, despite much talking, one cannot find expression. They are fearful of being judged and rejected. Afraid of silence. Azurite, Turquoise, Aquamarine, Blue Topaz, Blue Tourmaline (Indicolite), Lapis Lazuli and Amethyst are helpful in working with the Throat Chakra.

Third Eye Chakra
Effect: Understanding and Harmony
Related scents to the Third Eye chakra would include: Rosemary, Lavender, Clary Sage, Peppermint, Frankincense and Spruce.

Connection: Letting go of attachment, Divine relationship with spirit

This chakra affects all senses including the 6th sense. It is associated with the face, eyes, nose, sinus, cerebellum and pituitary gland. When this particular chakra IS in balance there will be an awareness of the spiritual side of being. One invites intuition and inner awareness into everyday life. Connects to the universe. If this chakra is NOT in balance, one will reject the spiritual aspects and focus on the intellect and science. They only see the obvious, surface meaning and are afraid of intuition. For the third eye, it is suggested using the following: Herkimer Diamond, Sodalite, Moldavite, Azurite, Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite, Sapphire and Malachite w/Azurite.

Crown Chakra
Effects: Cosmic Aspects, Overcome self limitations
Scents to assist in the area of the Crown Chakra would include: Frankincense, Myrrh, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Neroli and Lavender.

This chakra affects beyond all senses and is associated with the Brain, Cerebellum and skull.  If this chakra IS in harmony, one is living with the knowledge of unity. Knows that the self reflects the Divine. Abandons ego for Universal Ego.If this chakra is NOT in harmony, one will be unable to let go of anxiety and fear. Unable to imagine cosmic Unity. Will live depressed and unsatisfied. Some stones useful in this area would be Moldavite, Quartz, Lepidolite, Citrine, Golden Beryl and Amethyst.

Zeal Point--Above the crown by about a foot--I call the "Unconditional Love Chakra" (8th)
Effects: Love, kindness, consideration

Connects us to the Divine, Unconditional, Universal Love that is our true selves This energy assists in protecting and giving peace of mind. Some crystals to use for this higher chakra would include Kunzite, Celestite, Apophyllite, Selenite, Kyanite, Morganite and Danburite.
